The business card issue

One big question always lies on email conversations:

Can I add to my newsletter people who inform their email in their business cards?

Well, there is a simple answer to this one: “Only if you asked them to do it.”

When you receive a business card, you’ll often see an email address on it. People inform their email on their cards to receive future business contacts, not to receive SPAM from anyone.

If you intend to add that person who politely gave you his/her business card when you met, then you must be as polite in asking that person if they are interested in receiving your email newsletter. If the person agrees, ask them to sign on their business card something like “OK to Newsletter” or “OK to Email”.

This would be a safe way to get new recipients offline.

About Email Permission

In order to achieve good results in your E-Mail Campaigns you must follow the CAN-SPAM act which will help to gain respect and trust from your recipients.

We have set a few guidelines regarding whom you can and can’t send email campaigns too. Always remember the greatest rule: do not send newsletter without permission, be polite to ask to do so.
